Apparently this installed a driver for the tape drive, and now after having spoken with a tech at Retrospect, we want to give Retrospect another chance and start clean. So we deleted all of the config files and these were recreated. We were told this would most likely take care of the 625 error messages when writing to tape, as well as the application crashing. The problem is now Retrospect does not recognize the tape drive anymore. We tried uninstlaling and re-installing. All of the configuration stays in place though. Hi Chaplain, The thing is to connect your drive to a card that supports it. Not many RAID controllers will support a tape drive connected to it, and certainly don't support libraries and autoloaders with multiple SCSI IDs. Check the Dell website and look for compatibility between the card you have attached the drive too, and the drive itself. If it isn't listed, you're going to have to purchase a card that does.
